The Cameron Baird VC MG Foundation is a non-profit registered charity dedicated to

honouring the legacy of Corporal Cameron Baird, Australia's 100th Victoria Cross recipient.

The auction item is a one-off tribute to the bravery of Cameron and features a replica of the weapon he was using when he was killed in action, exquisite detail including bullet damage to the flash hider sustained in the action.  Other items include a set of Cameron's decorations, cast bronze badges, and two beautifully etched bronze replica daggers made by Bob Cotton for the Baird Family

Corporal Cameron Stewart BAIRD VC MG is one of Australia’s favourite sons.  Tragically Cameron was killed in action whilst performing the most conspicuous acts of valour, extreme devotion to duty and ultimate self-sacrifice as a team leader of Bravo Company, 2Nd Commando Regiment on 22 June 2013 at Ghawchak village, Uruzgan province.

For his sacrifice he was posthumously awarded the Victoria Cross, Australia’s highest award for bravery.

Doug, Kaye, Brendan BAIRD and several of Cameron’s school friends have been tireless supporters of veteran causes through the Foundation, raising funds for Commando’s, Commando families and other ADF veterans in need.

All of the Foundations fund raising goes directly to those in need.
